JEFFERSON COUNTY FIELD BURNING FORECAST
OREGON DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY WEATHER OFFICE
10:00 AM PDT THU JUL 29 2010

WEATHER DISCUSSION:

Once again today upper air charts show a weak trough off the coast of North
America and an upper level high centered over the four-corners area of the
southwest United States. This is giving a southwesterly flow aloft over western
Oregon. At lower levels, however, northerly winds are the rule.

The morning aircraft sounding shows a weak inversion to about 3600 feet AGL.
This will be broken with a surface temperature of about 84 degrees. (Likely
early this afternoon.)Thunderstorms will be less wide-spread today, but cannot
be ruled out for the area.

With the northerly transport winds today is
likely not a good day for significant open-field burning in the area.

under a dry, northerly flow aloft.
